We publish books and materials to support higher education and scholarship, offering them to students at significantly lower cost than our competitors.  Our focus is on publishing ideas with an emphasis on the most current scholarly knowledge -- what will enlighten rather than mislead -- presented in a way that engages and encourages interest in the subject.

Students, libraries and teachers rightly decry the high cost of textbooks and educational materials.  Melvin & Leigh, Publishers was founded in the belief that this situation is intolerable, and that we can do better.  We seek to meet students’ need for affordable educational books by emphasizing content, not expensive packaging.

We are committed to publishing books with superior content that are priced at least one-third less than competitors’ textbooks.
